Born in the UK in 1963, Lucy qualified as
a textile designer and spent the early part of her career
designing fabrics for the fashion industry.
A move in 1999 to the South of France resulted in a dynamic
change in direction in the way Lucy worked. Inspired by the
stunning scenery and the vivid colours afforded by a “southern
light”, Lucy began to paint dramatic colourful landscapes of
the Cote d’Azur and Provence.
She has since returned to the UK where she continues to explore
the textures and colour found in landscape. Working expressively
in a variety of media, her work reflects an instinctive approach
to painting as a means of capturing the changing moods and
atmosphere of the natural world.
In the same way, her paintings of people respond to the drama of
emotions and feelings; the essence of what it is to be human.
Lucy also works as an art teacher in a hospital for young
people. In addition to teaching and exhibiting, you can also
contact her with any requests for paintings or pictures or even
your dog’s portrait :)
